With all of the talk about mind mapping of late, I thought I’d give you an example to help you see how it can work.

The mind map in this post describes the (current) concept of thoughtwrestling.  You can read our About page to learn more about the blog, of course, but sometimes a picture works better, doesn’t it?

As you can see, the key concepts of thoughtwrestling are:

  • clear seeing
  • creative thinking
  • true grit
  • problem solving
  • (self) leadership

From there, each concept is explained with a number of attributes or keywords.

This is a very simple mind map with a minimal use of graphics.  The sky’s the limit as to what you can do with mind maps, though.

Can you use a mind map to better explain something that you are working on or that you would like to do?

Chuck Frey has written a detailed eBook called Power Tips and Strategies for Mind Mapping Software to provide you with different ways to use mind maps, some of which you may never have thought of before! Click on the picture above to check it out (yes, it is an affiliate link, which means that if you buy the eBook, some of the proceeds come back to Thoughtwrestling to help us do more great work here!)

This is a really solid example, Mark. I’ve been using bubbl.us lately to do a mind map “time audit”–to help me wrap my head around the concept of a balanced life as it applies to me specifically. You’ve got me inspired to share it. Good stuff!
